Sit down on the floor. Pull your left foot towards your body until it sits on your right thigh. Pull your right foot towards you until it sits on your left thigh.

 

Keep your spine vertical.

 

Rest your palms on your knees.

 

Keep your head up.

 

Breathe normally. Hold this posture as long as you comfortably can.

 

 

A variation: After you assume the lotus posture, get your hands behind your back. Use your right hand to grab your right foot and left hand to grab your left foot at the same time. Pull them together.
